June 2013, GIFSC and Responsible Investor host a panel on Ireland’s Enviornmental Finance Initiative
GIFSC in partnership with Responsible Investor hosted a specialist panel session titled ‘Ireland’s environmental finance initiative’.
The speakers on the panel, all experts in their respective fields, discussed the growing cluster of green assets in Ireland. The speakers included, John Mullins from Amarenco Solar, Steve Falci from Kleinwort Benson Investors, Manus O’Donnell from Mainstream Renewable Power and Charlie Reed from Blackrock Investments.
Ireland has developed a cluster of specialist renewable and environmental finance asset managers and aims to establish itself as the global centre for environmental and sustainable development, investment and asset servicing.
With a funds industry servicing a total of 3trillion, the country’s ambitions, through a special public/private initiative the GIFSC, is to increase ‘free’ assets under management tenfold to $200bn by 2017.
On this dedicated panel, industry experts from the policy, enterprise and funds sectors examine the current and potential market opportunities for environmental investing and look at the merits of Dublin as ‘green’ finance hub.
